Ongoing Initiatives and Information on Regnum Christi

Catholic Kids Net

http://www.k4j.org/

For more information contact:  d.toledo@regnunchristi.co.uk

KIDS NET is a dynamic and attractive catholic Catechetical programme which aims to aid children (ages 8-11) boost their faith development in today's society.  Kids NET (New Evangelisation for the Third Millennium) is an international programme successfully operating in eleven countries.

There are two strands to Catholic KIDS NET.  The first strand is the formation of NET Teams where children have fun, learn their faith, and experience the joy of sharing it with others.

The second strand is the activities of the NET Programme.  The "NET Programme" aims to fulfil a specific mission: form in our children solid catholic principles and values that will be useful both now and in their upcoming adolescence. They learn to be confident in living their faith and share it with their family and friends.

Through the NET Programme children are challenged to learn a specific virtue. Their 'MISSION" is to practice daily that particular virtue.  As parents, you are challenged to encourage and help by motivating your children to complete their mission. This valuable tool helps children and parents to learn, live and share the Catholic faith.

The contents of each NET team session includes a theme which is the virtue of the month, mission of the month - daily practice of the virtue - this is the most important KIDS NET activity.  A catechetical lesson, a story from Jesus' life, with games/puzzles as complement to existing religious education to develop the faith of our children in a really practical way.

KIDS NET is currently running at Our Lady Queen of Heaven (4a Inverness Place, London, W2 3JF In Queensway) every first Saturday of the month from 10:45 to 11:45.   And it is commencing at St. Anne in Brentwood (East London) in February.

The Pilgrim Queen of the Family

http://www.pilgrimqueen.org

The Pilgrim Queen of the Family apostolate is a beautiful way to encourage prayer among the family, uniting families who are new to praying and also those who have a devotion to Our Blessed Mother.

Our Purpose is to promote Family praying of the Holy Rosary for the Church, the Pope, the family and vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life.

We invite you to form a group of ten families who will welcome Our Lady of Guadalupe for three days, each month. Our hope is that many families are united in the prayer of the Holy Rosary through Pilgrim Queen of the Family and promote the devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Methodology

Pilgrim Queen of the Family is an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that monthly visits ten families, staying three days in each home. During her stay, the family prays together the Holy Rosary.

"Family that prays together stays together."
(John Paul II, Rosarium Virginis Mariae)

This apostolate requires two types of members: Guardians and Affiliated Family.

Guardian

A person who makes the commitment and has the honour of ensuring that Pilgrim Queen of the Family does pilgrimages from home-to –home to promote the prayer of the Holy Rosary. He/she invites nine other families (friends, neighbours or relatives) to receive Mary in their home for three days, each month.

Affiliated Family

Family who receive and welcome Our Lady of Guadalupe in their home each month for three days and commit themselves to pray the Holy Rosary together as a family, to pray for vocations, the Pope, the family and the Church. The affiliated family will try to form its own group, so that more and more families are visited by Our Blessed Mother and become united in a single prayer.

Pledge to Mary

As an Affiliated Family with Pilgrim Queen of the Family We commit ourselves to:

1.   Pray the Holy Rosary together as a family

2.   Invite other families to pray the Holy Rosary

3.   Love the Pope and collaborate with the bishop and parish priests

4.    Welcome life

5.   Promote vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life

6.   Give testimony of Christian love: “Look how they love each other”

“The Pilgrim Queen of the Family apostolate has been a blessing in my life; it has not only brought myself and my children closer to Our Blessed Mother but also presented many opportunities to work in schools, parishes and in the home. Our Lady has united many parishioners through this apostolate and there are a greater number of people supporting one another in prayer.

Mrs Anis Collins: Guardian; St Brendan Parish; Corby

The Pilgrim Queen is currently circulating within the Spanish and English communities in London, Yorkshire, Liverpool, Cambridge and throughout the diocese of Northampton with the blessing and encouragement of our Bishop, priests and religious. The apostolate has been adapted in some areas to cater for the needs of individuals and communities within the Northamptonshire Diocese.
